What THIS did
An offshore Condensate Heater was to be decoked and decontaminated as part of a platform-wide shutdown so that its heat transfer performance could be fully recovered.
Using the hydrocarbon-based chemical FSoL 500 a circulatory flush with bespoke closed loop flushing manifold was used to fill the volume of the system and flush it in both directions.
Real time analysis of the chemical was carried out to monitor its efficacy as it rapidly dissolved all hydrocarbon deposits and held them in solution, without becoming saturated.
The recovered, spent chemical and the dissolved hydrocarbon deposits were injected directly into the facility export line, with no negative impact on the export product, eliminating any waste disposal requirements.
Upon completion the client provided confirmation that the pre-treated Ratio of Heat Transfer Coefficient (HTC) of 0.433 (usually standard at 0.590) had been fully addressed and once fully operational at a production volume of 21,000 BPD was recorded at a post-treatment Heat Transfer Coefficient at over 0.700
Manual Benzene & Ammonia Vapour Removal
What THIS did
A Sour Water Stripper Feed Surge Drum was to be decontaminated as part of a facility-wide shutdown but after a day of numerous unsuccessful attempts to purge and steam decoke the vessel it still maintained lethal levels of Benzene and Ammonia contaminants and could potentially prolong the downtime of the facility.
Using the Hydrocarbon Decontamination Chemical HyDeX 100 and a bespoke 360º atomising spray lance lethal levels of toxic Benzene (approx. 900ppm) and Ammonia (>3,000ppm) vapours were removed from a Sour Water Stripper Feed Surge Drum with minimum chemical and downtime as well as maintaining full safety and environmental awareness.
